Ebonized ash kitchen table

This 46" x 46" kitchen table is made out of ash. It was ebonized using India Ink from the art store and the finish schedule was as follows:

- 2 coats of india ink
- 1 coat of shellac (zinnser sealcoat)
- 3 coats of waterlox original sealer/finish
- 2 coats of a 50/50 mixture of waterlox original s/f and satin

Here is the pile of ash I got from George.
I glued up 12 boards for the table top. Since I was ebonizing the table, I wasn't worried about the color differences.
Here is a picture of the table before finishing.
I applied several coats of Waterlox Original Sealer/Finish. This picture makes it look more glossy than it actually is. In person, it looked really cool, but glossy black would probably show everything.
I then applied 2 coats of a 50/50 mixture of Waterlox Original Sealer/Finish and Waterlox Satin.
It took some work to get there, but I was happy how the finish turned out.
