Walnut Jewelry Chest

Susie wanted me to build her new jewelry chest. She gave me ideas on what she was looking for and I came up with the design.

I built it out of air-dried walnut and the finish is padded on orange shellac. I rubbed out the shellac with #0000 steel wool and dark brown wax to give a smooth finish.
I got the pulls from Lee Valley.
The drawer sides are butternut which is often called walnut's cousin. The drawers weren't tall enough to add half-pins but I still like the look.
Susie picked up some dark red velvet from Hobby Lobby. I used backer rod for the ring holders. The dividers are made from maple.
The top two drawers have dividers and the bottom drawer has no dividers.
