Cherry Widescreen TV Stand

Cherry Widescreen TV Stand I built this cherry TV stand for my friend Phil that I worked with for many years. He gave me the dimensions and I came up with an initial drawing. After a couple of iterations, we came up with a design that we thought would look good.
This was my first time using Google Sketchup for a design. After a few tutorials and videos, it didn't take long to get the hang of it. You can download the model here.
The carcass is made out of A1 cherry plywood with a cherry face frame.
For the glass doors, I used my Leigh FMT jig.
I applied two coats of a 1.5# cut of dark garnet shellac. This gave the cherry some nice instant aging.
After the shellac, I applied three coats of Waterlox original sealer/finish. I think this finish just looks awesome on cherry.
The cabinet has dimable lights in it.
The top is 5/4 cherry. Running it through my drum sander was a little tricky and scary but it came out just fine.
