Christmas 2003 Projects

This was my first Christmas since I got into woodworking. I made a few simple gifts which I was really pleased with the results.

This wine rack was my very first mortise & tenon project! I was a bit nervous about trying this type of joinery, but everything came out fine. This is made out of cherry and finished with Watco Natural Danish Oil.
This cookbook holder is made out of walnut and ash. I really like the finished look of these two woods together. I applied a coat of Watco Natural, followed by three thin coats of Waterlox.
Another wine rack made out of cherry that is wall-mountable. I used Watco Natural on this also.

The following desktop clocks are 7" wide by 4" tall. On the back side of the clocks, the woods are reversed. All were finished with Watco Natural (hey, it's an easy and quick finish!)

This clock is walnut and hard maple.
